Jessica is results-driven and excels at creating traditional and viral publicity campaigns in all forms of media, including print, broadcast and online. Her clientele is diverse, ranging from celebrities and household names to first-time authors.

Jessica is a veteran of the publishing industry, learning her trade from the inside out. She spent her early years in senior positions at Pocket Books (Simon & Schuster) and HarperCollins where she designed and executed campaigns for numerous high-profile authors, including Kevyn Aucoin, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Douglas Coupland and Fran Drescher. She publicized three of Olivia Goldsmith's most successful titles, including the paperback of The First Wives Club, which was adapted into the movie of the same name. She was responsible for the publicity launch of Gregory Maguire's book, Wicked, which was later transformed into the hit Broadway musical. She also was the publicist for Ivana Trump's novel, Free to Love, and accompanied Ms. Trump on her nationwide book tour.

Following her relocation from New York to Miami in 1996, Jessica founded Jessica Jonap Public Relations, a full-service public relations company focused on the publishing industry. Success and growth occurred rapidly and she has worked with a variety of publishers and has publicized a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles, including such genres as parenting, education, lifestyle, health, self-help/psychology, photography and reference. She was the ongoing personal publicist for the New York Times bestselling author, Harriet Lerner, Ph.D., for several years. Jessica was retained by Random House as the sole publicist for its Reference & Information Group and was responsible for all aspects of publicity for the imprint's titles.

Jessica has a passion for photography and has taken a special interest in creating successful national publicity campaigns for books by or about esteemed photographers. She has publicized titles by Ellen von Unwerth, Michel Comte and Jean-Baptiste Mondino. She has worked professionally as a photographer for private clients, including authors for photo jackets.

In addition to her author and publishing house clientele, Jessica has worked with literary organizations across the country, including the Miami Book Fair International, which retained her to arrange separate showcase events for distinguished authors, including Laurent de Brunhoff, Charles Johnson, Peter Matthiessen and Derek Walcott.

As part of her community and public service outreach, she has created events for non-profits, including chairing a literary fundraiser for the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center's book and author series, featuring Robin Preiss Glasser, the renowned illustrator of the New York Times bestselling Fancy Nancy children's books. She has collaborated with numerous libraries at local elementary and middle schools to provide additional programming, and she has coordinated school visits with award-winning writers. She spearheaded creative writing contests for young children in schools throughout Miami-Dade County. Jessica has mentored student staff members for a high school poetry magazine, coordinated a student poetry reading with the magazine's writers at a local bookstore, and garnered media attention for this event. She has been a guest speaker for various local literary organizations, including The Writer's Institute at the Florida Center for the Literary Arts. She also serves as a mentor for the Strong Women Strong Girls' "Mentor-to-Mentor" program, which is dedicated to empowering women by providing accomplished women professionals as mentors and role models.
